Lagos State Creative Industry Capacity Building Initiative
A pioneer government-sponsored scholarship program that trained 1,000 young creatives across Lagos State in film production, digital art, sound design, and creative technology.
Project Overview & Impact
Creative Lagos was launched under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in partnership with Del-York Creative Academy to empower the next generation of creative entrepreneurs across all 57 Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State.
The fully-funded scholarship program delivered intense, practical training in screenwriting, film directing, cinematography, editing, acting, and digital marketing, led by Hollywood and Nollywood industry leaders.
Graduates formed new production collectives, launched indie film projects, and were absorbed into the rapidly growing Lagos creative economy, cementing Lagos' status as the undisputed creative capital of Africa.
