Role Summary
The Cinematographer/ Production Manager is responsible for both the operational management and the visual execution of video productions. This role involves overseeing the entire production process, from planning and budgeting to on-set management, while also handling the creative aspects of cinematography. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both production management and cinematography, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and with high-quality visual output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage production budgets, ensuring that all expenditures are tracked and remain within the allocated budget.
- Create and maintain detailed production schedules, coordinating with all departments to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Oversee logistics, including location scouting, equipment rentals, and travel arrangements for cast and crew.
- Hire and manage crew members, ensuring all personnel are properly equipped and briefed for their roles.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on set, addressing any issues that may arise.
- Act as a point of contact between the production team and other business units for video production, to ensure smooth communication and workflow.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication to ensure that all parties are informed of progress, challenges, and any changes to the production plan.
- Prepare and present detailed production reports as required.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders to determine the visual style and aesthetic of the project, ensuring it aligns with the overall vision.
- Contribute creative ideas that enhance the narrative and emotional impact of the film or video.
- Plan and execute all aspects of cinematography, including shot composition, camera operation, and lighting design.
- Operate cameras and related equipment during shoots, ensuring high-quality footage that meets the project’s visual standards.
- Work closely with the lighting and sound teams to create the desired atmosphere and mood for each scene.
- Review and select footage during post-production to ensure consistency with the project’s visual style and quality.
- Stay updated on the latest cinematography techniques, trends, and equipment to continuously improve the visual output of projects.
