The YAPPI PWD Inclusion Consultant will lead all disability-inclusion efforts across the YAPPI program, ensuring that Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) have equitable access to enrollment, training, transition pathways, employment opportunities, and program benefits. This role is central to YAPPI’s commitment to inclusive development and requires a driven professional skilled in outreach, enrollment, community engagement, accessibility coordination, and partnership building.
The consultant will work closely with internal teams, disability-focused stakeholders, employers, and participants to ensure successful implementation of YAPPI’s disability inclusion strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Enrollment & Outreach
- Lead outreach and mobilization to enroll at least 500 qualified PWD students per cohort, ensuring a minimum of 10% of total YAPPI enrollment are PWDs.
- Conduct sensitization sessions and community awareness across disability groups, NGOs, associations, and state disability commissions.
- Manage end-to-end onboarding of PWD participants using accessible registration channels.
- Ensure diverse representation (visual, hearing, mobility, cognitive, etc.).
Program Completion Support
- Ensure 85%+ completion rate for enrolled PWD participants across online and onsite phases.
- Provide continuous follow-up through calls, SMS, WhatsApp groups, and one-on-one mentorship.
- Document completion progress using trackers and dashboards.
- Work with learning teams to ensure all modules remain accessible.
Transition Management
- Ensure smooth transition of eligible PWDs from online to onsite or specialized streams.
- Maintain 80% transition visibility using trackers and monitoring tools.
- For PWDs unable to attend onsite, ensure they access advanced online or post-production opportunities.
- Document placements, participation, and special accommodations provided.
Employment & Placement Support
- Facilitate access to job placements, internships, apprenticeships, or entrepreneurship pathways for at least 50% of graduating PWDs.
- Build employer pipelines willing to hire PWD talents in animation, editing, VFX, admin, media, etc.
- Support participants in preparing portfolios, interviews, job readiness, and freelancing profiles.
Partnership Development
- Establish 6+ active partnerships per cohort with disability-focused organizations (JONAPWD, LASODA, NGOs, associations, etc.).
- Strengthen partner relationships through meetings, MoUs, and collaborative outreach.
- Engage government (Ministries, Departments, and Agencies), private sector studios, tech hubs, and community groups.
Accessibility & Inclusion Assurance
- Ensure all YAPPI online platforms, onsite facilities, and training materials are fully accessible.
- Coordinate sign-language interpreters, descriptive audio, captioning, mobility support, and assistive technology.
- Conduct periodic accessibility audits before each cohort.
Capacity Building for Staff & Faculty
- Conduct 1–2 disability inclusion training sessions per quarter for staff and faculty.
- Organize at least 2 inclusion awareness activities to strengthen internal culture.
- Advise teams on inclusive teaching methods and participant support.
Student Experience & Impact Stories
- Ensure 80%+ satisfaction rate through surveys and feedback mechanisms.
- Publish at least 3 impact stories monthly to highlight participant journeys.
- Address participant concerns promptly to maintain program reputation.
Reporting & Compliance
- Submit 100% timely reports including weekly snippets, monthly progress updates, and quarterly reviews.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with local disability legislation and global safeguarding standards.
- Keep accurate, accessible documentation on all PWD-related activities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Development Studies, Human Rights, or related fields. (Master’s is an added advantage.)
- Minimum 5-7 years experience working with PWD-focused programs.
- Strong understanding of disability inclusion frameworks and accessibility standards.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, outreach, and partnership development.
- Experience working in youth-focused or donor-funded programs (Mastercard Foundation experience is an advantage).
- Knowledge of the creative industry, animation, or digital skills ecosystem is preferred.
